Revolving restaurants offer a unique dining experience, allowing patrons to enjoy panoramic views without leaving their seats. These restaurants are typically located on the upper stories of hotels, television towers, and skyscrapers. The revolving platform, which operates like a large turntable, moves at a rate of one to three times per hour, providing a constantly changing view.
Weizhong has been a leader in designing, manufacturing, and installing revolving restaurants for over 30 years. Their innovative Pin-Gear drive system sets them apart from the traditional friction drive systems. This mechanism ensures smooth turning, reliable operation, long life, and minimal wear and tear. Additionally, it is cost-effective and space-saving, making it an ideal choice for construction projects.
By 2025, Weizhong had installed nearly 200 revolving restaurants in TV towers and high-rise buildings around the world. One of their most notable installations is the revolving restaurant atop the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is one of the best-known revolving restaurants in Asia.
Completed in 1994, the Oriental Pearl Towers stands over 1,500 feet tall. It is the largest tower in Asia and the third tallest tower in the world. Three cylindrical shafts form a central column that stretches between large lower and upper spheres, and the column is Downloaded by three legs that spread outward from the lower sphere to the ground. The legs sweeping upward, combined with the graduated nature of the construction, narrowing from bottom to peak, suggest and over-inflated Eiffel Tower in rounded concrete, while the spheres seem to reference Berlin's Fernsehturm.
To adapt to different construction structures, Weizhong offers three types of drive mechanisms: pit drive, horizontal drive, and vertical drive. Each type is designed to fit specific architectural needs, ensuring flexibility and ease of integration.
